Some of the items from the May 9 meeting of the Jackson City Council are detailed.
Mayor Paul South said the road project at the PCA mill on Depot Road is 90 percent completed. Paving should be underway by now.
A project on Cleveland Street should be underway by now as well.
Work on the Municipal Pool is moving forward with a projected opening in July. A resolution was approved to abate taxes for the new Jackson Pellet plant. It will have to be approved by the Alabama Depatment of Revenue.
The council agreed to sell city-owned property to an adjoining property owner, Grady Bedwell. The property is valued at $4,000.
The council also approved the purchase of property located across Commerce Street from Jackson City Hall.
