Detectives have released an image of someone they wish to speak to after a pensioner was attacked with a hammer. Officers were called out to Portal Grove in Denton, Tameside, after receiving a report of a 69-year-old man being assaulted.
Thankfully, the injuries sustained were thankfully not life-threatening or life-changing for the victim. Greater Manchester Police says the suspect made off from the location towards Mill Lane.
The incident was reported to GMP at around midday on Thursday, March 2. Today (June 7) the force has issued a CCTV image of a man on a distinctive black and yellow pedal bike, who detectives believe has vital information that can help with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Woodhead, of GMP's Tameside district, said: "Since this incident was reported to us shortly after it happened we have undertaken and investigated a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this. Now these have been completed we are in a position to appeal to the local public for any further detail they may have.
"In particular, we are keen to speak to the person pictured on a distinctive pedal bike that we feel may be able to assist us in our investigation." Anyone with information or details that may help with enquiries is asked to call 0161 856 9262 or 101, quoting log 1433 of March 2, 2023.
